Description/Origin: Nathan "Hiroyuki" d'Alencourt was born in 1844. His mother died giving birth and his father, a French-Canadian diplomat in Japan, was a good friend to the samouraï Nasato Sanada. When Nathan's father died, Nasato took him under his tutelage and Nathan received the sacred training of the samouraï. The young boy quickly became the best katana master of the clan, and as such, Nasato gave him the sacred-magical katana who had belong to all the master samouraï of the previous generation.

Nathan, now called Hiroyuki, became infused with the spirits of the 9 previous samouraï each timed he used the blade, giving him incredible powers. Then, war erupted. The emperor wanted to be done with the samouraï. To make sure the spirits of the Samouraï "survived", the shaman Koyamada used all his arcane power to send Nathan d'Alencourt into the futur. More precisely into the 20th century.

Now, as the hero SCARLET BLADE, Nathan fights crime in the memory of his clan and his ancestors. But he's still a man from the past, not really belonging to the world of today.
