Description/Origin: Jason Cross was a graduate student in Geology at the University of California San Francisco. While assembling an intact canius dirus skeleton from central France, the fossil skeleton mysteriously became animated and attacked the young man, savagely bighting his left arm. Jason fought back and struck the skeleton with a high voltage electrical line. The skeleton vanished in flare of red light and some how, fused with Jason's body, imbuing him with vast strength and an amazing degree of damage resistance. Jason took the name of Direwolf and followed the path of the masked heroes such as Shadow Knight he had read about as a boy. He has answered the call of the Paragon City Provisional Authority and seeks to stem the tide of chaos in the city while still trying to understand just what he has become.
