Description/Origin: Jay Martinez was captured by the Sky Raiders and taken to the Arch-Villain Maestro, who revealed to Jay that they were half-brothers because of an affair Jay’s mother had with his father. As a result of the affair, Maestro’s mother committed suicide. Determined to seek revenge, Maestro quickly rose to power in the Sky Raider organization and used Sky Raider resources to sabotage his father’s business, forcing his father to declare bankruptcy. Maestro, then, murdered his father. He then set his sights on his half-brother Jay. Maestro’s plan to destroy Jay was simple. He was going to continually bombard Jay’s body with the same Rikti sonic devices that gave Maestro his powers. However, while being bombarded with the sonic energies, Jay felt his body harmonize with the sonic energy. In desperation, Jay shouted at the top of his lungs, destroyed the machine, and brought the ceiling down onto Maestro who was trapped underneath. As Jay escaped, knocking minions to the side with his sonic powers, he heard Maestro vow to murder him. Later, Jay registered in Atlas Park as Sonic-Crush to learn how to better protect his mother from Maestro and to bring his half-brother to justice.
