Description/Origin: The reformed Nictus Shadowfire was brought to Earth to seek a human host. He wished to atone for his sins by purging his new home of evil forces. As he approached Earth in his small containment pod, he meditated silently, preparing himself for his new life.

Stu Crowley was a "special" construction worker for Crey industries, helping them build illegal satellites and orbital platforms for some of their shadier manufacturing and research projects. At the moment, he was installing sensor equipment in a small lab of Crey's newest orbital research station... a small lab equipped with surgical beds. Surgical beds equipped with titanium restraints. Stu did not wish to know why those were necessary.

Shadowfire had been given a list of all known obstructions along his journey that he would need to pilot around. This list did not include illegal, cloaked Crey satellites. Shadowfire's pod was constructed of advanced alien metals and wreathed in an energy shield powered by his own dark energies. It survived the impact. The Crey satellite did not.

As the two objects plummetted toward the Earth, Shadowfire realized what had happened. He knew not who the humans on the platform were, nor why it had not been on his charts. It made little difference. He could not save them all, but he could save one. He reached out with his mind and made contact with Stu Crowley. He asked him if he was willing to make a sacrifice to preserve his own life, and to improve the lives of countless others. Stu agreed.

Amidst the flaming wreckage, the Warshade Stillfire was born.
